IPFRA has today confirmed that Severn Trent Water has become an official supporter – the first water company to support the association.
Severn Trent provides water and wastewater services to millions of households and businesses. Through its work with customers, communities, local authorities, the Environment Agency and other partners, the company plays an important role in the wider management of water and flood risk.
Its support for IPFRA will create further opportunities to share knowledge and explore how property-level measures can complement wider work around drainage, infrastructure, catchment management and community resilience.
Graham Brogden MBE, Chair of IPFRA, said: “Welcoming Severn Trent Water as IPFRA’s first water company sponsor is an important development for the association. Improving the nation’s resilience to flooding requires collaboration across many different industries. Water companies have an important contribution to make, not only through their work on infrastructure and drainage but through their relationships with customers and communities.
“We look forward to working with Severn Trent as we continue to raise awareness of property flood resilience and encourage greater preparedness.”
Christian Jones, Community Flood Manager at Severn Trent, said: “At Severn Trent, we recognise that building resilience to flooding requires collaboration across the entire sector. We are delighted to support IPFRA and its work to promote property flood resilience, raise awareness of flood risk, and help communities become better prepared for future flooding events. Through our work with customers, local authorities, the Environment Agency and other partners, we see first-hand the benefits of taking proactive action to reduce flood impacts.
“We look forward to working with IPFRA and its members to share knowledge, support innovation and help strengthen flood resilience across the communities we serve.”
