2025 has been quite a year for IPFRA – and we’re only six months old!
Founded at Flood & Coast, IPFRA is still a young organisation yet built from years of technical experience of our members and the pace, positivity and collaboration we’ve seen since launching in June has been extraordinary.
In just half a year, IPFRA has become the voice of the industry, with a goal to mainstream Property Flood Resilience, encouraging works to be undertaken in alignment to the Standards of the CIRIA PFR Code of Practice, with quality and reputation at the core.
We now have six Associate Members, alongside our Founder Member organisations, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support of three high-profile supporters – the ABI, Flood Re and Aviva – who have joined us on this journey.
IPFRA exists to represent the PFR industry; surveyors, installers, consultants, manufacturers, distributors and the wider supply chain, and to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to lead, influence and support the mainstreaming of PFR.
Crucially, IPFRA is made up entirely of people actively working in the industry. That means everyone involved has a vested interest in building a sustainable, credible and commercially viable future, grounded in quality delivery and trust.
Since our launch, we’ve:
- Received ministerial recognition, both at Flood & Coast and in a subsequent one-to-one meeting with Minister Emma Hardy MP.
- Have a place at the PFR Roundtable Steering Group.
- Worked closely with Professor Peter Bonfield to help inform his review of property flood resilience, and subsequently attended the launch of “FloodReady” in London.
- Become an Official Sponsor of Flood Mary’s new PFR Directory ‘Making Your Home Flood Ready’.
- Become a sponsor of Flood Re’s BeFloodReady Floodmobile.
- Hosted a reception in Lancaster during Flood Action Week, ahead of discussions on the ongoing creation of the RAIN FCRIP PFR Blueprint for local authorities.
- Organised a successful seminar for the Insurance Institute of York/Hull: “Flooding: Road to Resilience”.
And this is just the beginning.
As the voice of the industry, it’s genuinely encouraging to see organisations pulling together, sharing innovation, celebrating progress and working to raise standards – which will ultimately improve the outcomes for people living at risk of flooding across the country.
That collaboration will continue into 2026 and beyond and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, together.
